We just pour excess fat right from the pan into the silicone mold mix in bird seed nuts fruit etc.
A suet cake cage in your backyard can attract many different fun to watch birds such as woodpeckers wrens robins orioles jays and more.
This will usually be the most expensive option as these cakes have already been processed and shaped for feeders.
Purchase rendered plain suet cakes or chunks from a wild bird supply store garden center or pet store.
The lard is quite useful to the birds in winter as it is an excellent source of calories for them.

When i have enough i then melt it down and make a seed cake with it.
